I guess this is just like their black model. Anyway, I use it for a pocket alarm, and it's sufficiently loud (...I can't hear any wristwatch type alarm beeps anymore), but this Westclox has a decent travel alarm clock noise...so I can hear it even when it's deep in my pocket, and it's nice and lightweight and thin. Accessing the battery is a bit of a mystery because they imprint an 'arrow' which is counter to the way the battery cover comes off. And they don't tell you anywhere what the button battery type is (LR44???) but I'll wait until I need to change it before I remove it. Note: Just be certain that you draw-out the way the battery goes in because there is no help for telling you which 'face' of the battery (the wider / or smaller face) goes in/toward which direction (left or right). But all in all, it's a nice fairly loud, but just loud enough for YOU to hear, lightweight, thin, pocket alarm.
