Summary: Great Clock 2008-09-30
Comment: After a bit of adjusting with the regulator inside the clock, it keeps good time. Sure, it might gain a minute or two now and then, but that's ok. The alarm certainly gets my attention..even from another room. I very much love the way it looks and the way it ticks.

I've found a more comfortable way of winding it is to 'hold the key' while turning the clock.

Summary: Loud Bell Alarm, Not Reliable though.... 2007-09-13
Comment: After owning this clock for over a month here's my verdict: For the price, it's a decent clock, but in the end you get what you paid for. As other reviewers have mentioned, it has a cheap brass finish (your fingerprints will be all over it), and the alarm bells are loud. The tick-toc isn't loud enough to disturb my sleep and setting the alarm is quite easy (just make sure the pin doesn't interfere with the alarm hammer). However, the clock has stopped numerous times (even after turning the key daily) making it an unreliable alarm clock. If you really want a reliable "old school" twin bell alarm clock- they cost around $50 online- they are made in Serbia (where those old school clocks were originally from); this clock is made in China and is a cheap knockoff of the real thing. Look elsewhere.

Summary: When you must wakeup at un-godly hour... 2007-05-13
Comment: This is what's going to do it. Annoying bell... Yes. But you will make that 4 AM flight to Kalamazoo, MI... Unless of course you forget to pull the knob to activate the alarm!! Put it just outside your bedroom to avoid tic-toc, if it interferes with your falling sleep.

Summary: It's JUST OK 2007-05-01
Comment: I agree the finish is cheap and for the price this clock is just ok. I had it for about 2 months and then the alarm hand fell off, sucks to be me but i am kinda rough on my clocks.

Summary: Looks cheap! 2007-01-09
Comment: I bought this for my mother at her request. She wanted a simple alternative to the digital clocks that are becoming hard for her to read.

The brassy finish is the cheapest you can imagine.

The wind up and alarm mechanisms are difficult to use.

Skip this one.
