Amazon.com Product Description

A clock radio suited to your precise tastes, the Timex T625B triple-alarm CD clock radio lets you listen to your favorite CDs and radio stations or a selection of stereo nature sounds: ocean surf, rushing brook, forest spring, and wind chimes. The clock's sleek design sports a hidden control panel where you can access important features like the clock's unique, 1-touch alarm settings, which can accommodate 7-, 5-, or 2-days-a-week scheduling. Its 3 distinct alarms permit individual wake times and alarm sounds so you and a partner can wake to your choice of: 1) radio, 2) nature sounds, or 3) either CD or beeping. (No two alarms may be of the same type.)

Just plug it in and the clock will set itself, drawing on its factory-installed 100-year calendar (year/month/day, 2000 to 2099). The clock will even self-adjust for Daylight Savings time. Like to snooze? Then you'll like the clock's large, easy-to-find snooze bar.

The T625B provides convenient 1-touch radio tuning, with 18 presets: 12 for FM and 6 for AM stations. The tuner always remembers the last station selected before the radio was switched off. Fall asleep to your choice of a favorite station or any of the unit's 4 nature sounds using the unit's programmable sleep timer (15 to 90 minutes). If you play a CD at bedtime, the unit will stop when the CD is finished.

A 4-line, backlit LCD features a 3-position brightness control and a wealth of status indicators, everything from alarm settings and alarm modes to CD playback mode, bass-boost on/off, and play/pause status.

The clock also comes with Sure Alarm battery backup--just install 3 AA batteries (not included) to activate the feature. In the event of a power failure, or if you disconnect the AC power cord to move the clock, the Sure Alarm system will maintain your clock and alarm settings for the life of the batteries, ensuring that the alarms will sound at the set time (while operating on battery power, the alarms will sound only as buzzer).

What's in the Box
Clock, FM wire antenna, and a user's manual with warranty information.

Summary: Do you need a "spotlight" alarm clock? 2005-11-17
Comment: I read the reviews and was looking for an alarm clock which had somee nice features, like a digital radio, cd , decent sound, and where it wasn't too bright of a display. I read reviews of other alarm clocks to see if people complained of brightness and would move on if this was an issue. Well, this alarm clock lit up a relatively large bedroom. My alarm clock sits on my nighttable next to my bed and it felt like a flashlight blaring through my eyelids. I ended up putting a black wool hat on it to get through the night. I returned it the next day! If brightness is your sore point, don't get this alarm clock unless you want to be able to read by its light alone.

Summary: Um, where is the quality? 2005-10-25
Comment: The reviews of this clock were what prompted me to purchase it. What a disappointment! Yes, it has the features I want: weekend sleep, aux out (where is the aux in???), calendar, small footprint, and the negative LCD is a pretty cool feature, although poorly implemented. But the radio wouldn't tune my radio stations at all, and the sound without my pc speakers was terrible. And the implementation of the alarms was just plain confusing.

I am awarding this product with 3 stars due to the features, but when are we going to see a better implementation of an alarm clock like this?

Summary: Liked it so much I'm buying 2 more as gifts! 2005-09-30
Comment: Did a lot of research before ordering the clock but it's worked out perfectly. As someone said below, I was hoping not the spend this much but after buying 2 other brands and returning - this one is worth the money. Plug it in and time is set. We lost power two days after we got it and it retained the alarms and woke us at the right time. Easy to use, good sound and love the 5 day alarm setting so we don't have to remember to turn it on and off.

Summary: Great NEW DESIGN from previous Timex alarm clocks 2005-09-11
Comment: I have owned Timex alarm clocks for my past 2 clocks, and I love them. This one is no exception.

I purchased the BLACK one, but they also offer it in "titanium" (silver).

This is the MOST CURRENT MODEL - [...]- and has the most features. (Trust me, I checked!) It is also the EXACT SAME PRICE as the older models ($69.99) - I checked online and in stores to confirm this. If you see this model for less expensive, make SURE it is the same clock - some sites said it was this model, but the picture was NOT this clock. Amazon.com does NOT have a picture, but it IS the right clock.

The small footprint saves a LOT of space on my nightstand - my older model was just a bit too big.

It is easier than ever to set up - it actually set the time by itself as soon as I put the batteries in! Very nice, and a HUGE time saver. It is much more accurate than my other models (my older models used to gain a LOT of time and I would have to re-set them periodically - I don't have to do that with this clock!). It does NOT set to the atomic clock, but I don't require that feature - just as long as I get to work on time. (Clocks that set to the atomic clock are either more expensive, or have a LOT less features than this clock does. I prefer the extra features of this machine.)

The "hidden" panel is a smart feature - you CANNOT accidentally change your settings in the heat of (repeatedly) hitting the snooze button.

The white on black screen is much nicer than the Indiglo background of my older model - easier to see in the night, and it does NOT blind me! I have it set on the dimmest setting, and you can see it very clearly in the daytime, too.

The nature sounds are nicer than my older model - they sound more realistic and less "tinny".

Which brings me to the "extended bass" feature ... VERY NICE! Maybe not as rich as a Bose, but for the price I can not only live with it, but appreciate how far speakers in a clock radio have come.

There are 3 different options for the alarms (which is why I bought a Timex 2 times ago) - CD or buzzer, Nature Sounds, Radio. I stagger the alarms so I can wake up a little less frazzled.

The CD loads on the side, and it clicks to lock it in - nice!

This model has a LOT more pre-set buttons for the radio - 12 for FM, 6 for AM ... YAY! This is an upgrade from my old model that is VERY appreciated. The radio is easy to tune, and gets much better reception than the older model (with just a simple wire to deal with, instead of a clunky plastic "loop" like older models).

I like the blue light that turns on when one of the features is being used - it is a tad bright, but it looks very nice against the black front, and it reminds me the unit is in use - sometimes I used to forget to turn off the CD player (on my old model) and now I don't forget. [NEW: since using this item for more than 3 months now, I have painted over the blue light. It is REALLY bright in the darker morning hours. I left the edges unpainted, and that is just enough light to remind me the CD is still on. I used regular acrylic paint from my local art store - I actually used FolkArt Metallic Black - it has little silver sparkles in it that matches the rest of the machine. Use a small brush and wait for each layer to dry in between layers - I did 3 total layers. It looks perfect!]

The ONLY thing I wish was that the side without the CD player would have been made solid black to match the machine better - instead it is silver and has the "CD" logo on it in black letters. It's OK, but aesthetically I would have preferred a black panel with silver lettering. (Hey, I'm a girl and I think of these things!)

Overall I am VERY pleased with this machine. Thanks, Timex!

Summary: Everything You Need In a Clock Radio 2005-02-25
Comment: It is amazing how many clock radios lack many features that this one has. A battery backup for example. How can you have a clock radio that most will use as an alarm clock and not have a battery backup. Fortunately this clock has one, and all other features I wanted in a clock radio. The only negative I have is the brightness level. I would like it a little dimmer at night. But one thing I could not take is the bright blue light that comes on when you play the radio or CD. The light is on the front lower center and is probably there only as a decoration. At night it is blinding. I painted it black.
