This review is from: TIMEX T312S AUTO SET CLOCK RADIO WITH NATURE SOUNDS (Electronics) I own several of the clock radios in this series including T312 and T307. They are compact, have good quality sound, lighted screen with level control, am/fm presets, choice of wake-to radio or "natural" sounds, dual alarm, sleep mode, date... It sounds like a typical clock radio except in my experience most are lacking in some of these features, most often being either too big or having tinny sound. CAUTION: I found that I had to spend 5 minutes reading the manual for each model to figure out how to set the time and date. Normal day to day operation is intuitive though. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: TIMEX T312S AUTO SET CLOCK RADIO WITH NATURE SOUNDS (Electronics) I bought this to replace a Timex T301 Clock Radio that served me well. That is until some genius decided to change the DST date a few years back. The DST date was preprogramed into the clock's calendar and can't be adjusted. I scoured the internet for a fix but none worked.
What I like about the T312 is the DST switch. No muss, no fuss just move the switch for the time change. My two biggest gripes are: 1. The placement of the buttons for various functions is such that when you grasp to clock to pick it up or move it, you will most likely press one of the buttons and either turn something on or change a setting. 2. The clock's design has the face tilting upwards. This doesn't present a problem unless the clock is above your head when you are laying in bed. In that case it is difficult to see the time because the digits appear faded. Other than that, the clock is an exceptable replacement to the old one. Which, by the way, is...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: TIMEX T312S AUTO SET CLOCK RADIO WITH NATURE SOUNDS (Electronics) I hate this clock. First it is complicated to program, and the manual is printed in tiny font. I wanted to set the alarm for nature sounds, but when the alarm went off it played both nature sounds and a radio station. I gave up trying to make it just play the nature sounds and set it to a radio station. Apparently if you accidentally press any of the buttons that surround the clock, which it is almost impossible NOT to do that setting can get screwed up, as it wound up playing two radio stations when the alarm went off. If you LOVE gadgets that are really complicated and flakey, this clock is for you. If you want something simple that just works, get something else. |
