Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Purchased this item because we needed a clock radio and was interested in the "weather butler". The instruction manual was able to get me through getting the batteries into the Temperature Remote Sensor and setting up the Power Adapter. Setting up the date and time was more difficult (believe it or not). Instruction manual very poorly written. After I thought I had everything set up and ready to go, the "Butler" stated the date as being "Monday, November 1" when it was actually "Tuesday, November 1". Couldn't find a way to change it. Also, the temperature was about 10 degrees off, both inside and out. Called The Sharper Image Customer Service Center and everyone I spoke with sent me to another location. No one was able to help me. Also, as other customer stated, the low volume ("1"), is way too loud to wake up to in the morning. I'm will be packing this item up and returning it today.

Nice concept with many bad features. Volume 1 way to loud at night to listen to. The lowest light setting way to bright to sleep. The remote sensor is a painful to open with 4 small screws, one was aready stripped when I brought it home, never got inside the device to put in batteries. Good sound quality and reception. Directions are not accurate and misleading. Sharper image cares nothing about the customers or their products reputation. The customer service could care less about the products they are selling or the customer. I would have to contact who made the product about the warranty. I am not buying anything from Sharper Image anymore. It is not the same company which warrants trust and quality. Very disappointed in their products.

I bought myself one of these earlier this year and I love it! I didn't have any problems setting it up, although I do agree that setting the time is a little harder than it should be. I love the nap feature--instead of relying on just 9 minutes of snooze time, you also have the option to "snooze" in 15 minute increments using this feature. The only thing I think people could possible complain about is how bright it is, even on the lowest setting. But I got used to it and really like it. We just went through DST and it didn't miss a beat--right 2 a.m., it when back an hour.
