Sony ICF-C630 FM/AM Clock Radio with AC/DC Operation

Comment: I bought this alarm clock because all the other ones we have bought either take up too much space on the dresser or produce way too much ambient light. When this unit draws power from both the AA batteries, the LCD display is off. I find the external attenae wire annoying. Is there any reason why they just don't include an internal one?

Comment: Bought this clock radio for my Mom. It was a perfect fit for the shelf in her kitchen corner niche. The clock would not light up during the day, but would stay lit in the evening. It defeats the purpose. If my Mom wanted to see the clock during the daytime, she had to walk over to it and press the button and then it would light up the screen. Unfortunately, she just shipped out the clock for return today. When I placed the order, the description said that it would run on two AA batteries or with the adaptor. Then after she received it and told me that the time would not light up, I checked the description online again for this item. There was a different description for this clock radio listed than the one originally given when I had placed the order. The new description said the clock and the alarm would only work when a 9V battery was inserted in addition to the two AA batteries. My Mom and one of her neighbors spent a lot of time looking for the place where this supposed 9V battery should go. There was absolutely no place to install it. I can only deduce that something got screwed up somewhere. If you don't mind walking over to this clock radio continuously to press the button down to find out what time it is, then this one is for you!!

Comment: JUST RECEIVED THIS AND ITS A GREAT BUY. IT IS VERY HARD TO FIND SMALL RADIO CLOCKS THAT ARE AC/DC. THE SOUND IS GREAT. LOVE THE DIFFERENT MELODY SOUNDS TO WAKE UP WITH. GREAT PRICE AND THE SIZE IS PERFECT. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS PURCHASE.

Comment: I like the fact that I can now set the alarm for 2 different times since I get up at different times during the week. However, the clock is actually too small. I thought it was going to be a little bit bigger. Also, the display is too bright. I wear glasses and squint at night to see the clock. It is harder to see than the old clock I had which was a black background with the time being displayed in yellow.

Comment: The only complaint I have with this alarm clock is that it is a bit like operating a watch. It does not have enough buttons to allow for easy changing of the settings. On the other hand, once the device is set up the functions that you use most frequently are very assessable. I also enjoy the softness of the light. It is readable in the dark yet does not offend the sleepy eye.
