It has most of the features I was looking for in a C/R: The alarm starts out soft an gradually gets louder, I can see it in the dark, it has large easily accessable buttons, and it is easy to set.
It also has some bonus features like dual alarms and a different alarm tone(it plays two classical songs). The one negative is the backlight only has two setting high and low. I would prefer one with a very low setting, but the backlight doesn't bother me; it's just a preference. I have never tested the radio for reception or quality, sorry. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: SONY AM/FM CLOCK RADIO-LIV (Electronics) I found this nice little Sony to replace the old JCPenney clock radio I had been using for 23 years, and I'm pretty satisified with it. The sound quality is good, it doesn't take up much space, and the controls are pretty intuitive to use. Several useful features: it has a total of 4 alarm settings: 2 for the weekdays and 2 more for "weekend mode" which are easy to set. It also has a Sleep Timer (radio stays on for preselected amount of time) and a Nap Timer (buzzer sounds after a preselected amount of time--handy for afternoon naps). The battery backup is nice insurance in case power goes out. The only negative, as another reviewer mentioned, is that the backlight "low" setting is still a little bright for a dark room for my taste, but that doesn't bother me much since I keep it on the nightstand, out of my line of sight. Overall a great Sony product. |
