This review is from: Seiko Travel Alarm Clock Ultra Thin Grey and Brown Undertone Matte Case (Watch) It's very compact for travel which is nice but if you need an accurate alarm this is not the clock for you. I'm returning this item today because the alarm just doesn't function like it should. The alarm set dial on the face of the clock is in 10 minute increments. The alarm itself goes off plus or minus 7 or 8 minutes either way. One time it didn't go off at all.
It's great for time, not so great for an alarm clock. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By Practical Shopper (Newton, MA USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Travel Alarm Clock Ultra Thin Grey and Brown Undertone Matte Case (Watch) Great little clock - easy to set, easy to see (ok, it's not backlit, but I can do without that since it means not worrying about battery life), easy to pack (I keep it in my toiletry case ready to go), and you don't need to worry about batteries (the promised battery life is SEVEN YEARS -- I'll have lost it by then). And unlike almost all travel alarms, it's well designed, seems adequately sturdy, and is kinda good looking. I was hesitant to spend this much on a travel alarm but I'm glad I did. As one reviewer noted, it's hard to set the alarm to the minute, but that's not an issue for me because when traveling on business I routinely set multiple alarms (cellphone, clock radio if I can figure out how it works, or hotel wake-up call, AND my own alarm). 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By IonDoc (Florida) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Seiko Travel Alarm Clock Ultra Thin Grey and Brown Undertone Matte Case (Watch) This alarm clock is definitely thin and light - very well suited for travel. The fact that the alarm seems to only be settable in 12 min increments doesn't bother me. It does go off as set, at least in five or six trials so far. I obviously can't comment yet on the 7 year battery life. My one disappointment is that the hands are very thin so that there is really not much LumiBrite paint on them, and they are difficult to read in the dark, especially the minute hand, particularly for someone who no longer has 20/20 vision. Also, I can see no "LumiBrite Arabic hour markers", or if they are there they are so small as to not be visible in the dark. So if you want a thin, light travel alarm, this one if fine. If you want to read the time easily when you wake up at 4 in the morning, look elsewhere. |
