The alarm definitely wakes you up in the morning. When I ordered it, I wasn't sure a rooster was the way to go to wake up my 6 year old, but he loves it. He feels like a big boy now having his own alarm clock. It almost sounds like a real rooster, and it's a good size which makes telling time a lot easier. The alarm indicator stick seems to be fairly accurate. I have it set between the 6 and 7 and it goes off just about 6:30 (like it should). I would recommend this clock.

This is a really cute clock... my toddler loves the rooster sound! Very loud. The alarm is not very precise, however... I wanted to use it as a bedtime alarm to let my daughter know when it's time for lights out after she's read her books for a bit. It isn't working out well for that - if I need the clock to alarm ten minutes from the current time, for example, I can't do it. The rooster starts to crow immediately when I turn the alarm on for some reason. The clock also doesn't seem to keep accurate time, either... maybe the batteries are running low, but they haven't been in it very long.
