RCA RP5605 AM/FM CD Clock Radio with Large LED Display

Comment: Buttons don't work properly. Have to hit play 20+ times, with a few presses of the off button, to get the CD to start! And this is our second! The first one had problems with the buttons being cross-wired or something. When you press one of them it either doesn't respond or acts like you pressed a different one.

Purchased through Walmart.

Comment: This product is a piece of junk, and the reason I haven't sent it back to Amazon yet is the irritation I feel every time I think about putting myself through the process. It seems easier to just throw away the $25 I wasted on this thing and get a Sony. To begin with, the CD player often has problems reading cd's, such that it shuts off with an ER (error) sign. Next, if it does play, there is a constant clicking sound as something in the mechanism is obviously rubbing with the revolutions of the cd. The volume control is defective and is tied to the cd problem, in that the malfunction of the latter varies with the volume setting. The clicking sound is louder than the music. The quality control that went into this thing is non-existent, and RCA should be ashamed of itself for affixing its good name to something this awful. Dr. Richard Beck, Carbondale, IL.

Bought 2nd - CD player didn't work out of the box.

Got these through Wal-Mart. Don't buy.

Comment: I purchased this item for a relative. He is 81. Being compact and a large display this eliminates having
to have multiple appliances.

Comment: At first, it worked great and was easy to fix the time on it. Yet, when the electricity briefly went off, it knocked the time to noon and started flashing. But now it won't let me change the time at all.

Correcting a time isn't rocket science, but trying to do it with this one is nearly impossible. When you push the time change button, you're supposed to be able to push the other buttons to move the hour and minutes, but it just sits there flashing and then not flashing.

If one went on vacation and left it in the hotel room, it would not be missed. If you want a disposable clock, this one is okay. Other than that, it seems useless.
