Summary: DO NOT BUY!!! 2006-12-02
Comment: All the bad reviews on this can't be a coincidence. RCA knows this is garbage but they continue to sell it anyway instead of recalling it. I bought it locally in a clearance outlet for $40. That should tell you something. I returned the first one as the CD player was making awful scraping and knocking noises. Tonight I exchanged it for another and the loud noises have been replaced with clicking sounds, CD skipping and a noticably loud CD motor. I wish I had read these reviews before I bought this because tomorrow I have to return this AGAIN! This time, though, I'm getting my $40 back!!! Bite the bullet and buy the Cambridge Soundworks 730 (radio only) or 740 (with CD). Expensive but worth it after this experience. You get what you pay for never sounded more true after buying this sorry excuse of a radio.

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS S....Y "PRODUCT" 2006-08-09
Comment: I spent days and days researching what cd alarm clock to buy and I think I checked reviews at Amazon at that time, there were some complains about CD door not opening and that was all. So I took the risk and bought it. What a mistake!!
CD stopped working after a few months after extremelly light usage (less than 48 hrs in total).
Do not buy this under any circumstances!
Do not buy ANYTHING from RCA. The reason for this last recommendation is: this is simply a sign, a warning. To sell such an awfull product to masses, come on. This tells everything about the company. It is a SYSTEM CAUSE, not a glitch. It tells me everything about the company

Summary: DO NOT BUY! FLAWED PRODUCT! 2006-07-31
Comment: I have never been more disappointed in an electronics product. The features were exactly what I was looking for, and the sound quality was excellent; BUT shortly after I got it the cd mechanism began clicking and skipping. Soon it simply wouldn't work anymore. I returned the product and RCA sent me a replacement. AMAZINGLY the replacement has the SAME PROBLEM!!
Based on all the reviews I've seen, this is an epidemic with this model and RCA should definitely be ASHAMED! Thompson Consumer Electronics is the manufacturer. They also manufacture Lyra, Proscan, GE and other major products. I will avoid all RCA products based on this experience.

Summary: Clock for a present 2006-07-06
Comment: The CD player is a little rough but the sound is nearly as good as Bose The clock was not too hard to set The overall size is a
bit to large for a clock radio. It just will snuggle in place

Summary: RCA SHOULD BE ASHAMED 2006-06-05
Comment: This clock radio/ CD player is a piece of junk. We have had it for 1 year. The CD player makes noises and has a fit (door to player slams itself open and closed if you try to insert a CD). The CD player mechanics are extremly loud. The reviews below are all correct. The clock radio should never have been distributed. Dont companies conduct quality control anymore? RCA will never get a penny from us again. DO NOT PURCHASE this product. Save yourself from the fustration, and from being ripped off. Where is David Horowitz when you need him???
Amazon- you should stop selling this clock radio ASAP.
