Unlike most clock radios, the RP3751 is a stereo unit, with a pair of side-firing 2.5-inch speakers that deliver a surprisingly full sound. It's not going to produce anything like high-fidelity sound, but at least the RP3751 tastefully sidesteps the tinny quality we associate with the majority of clock radios. But beware if you choose to wake to the beeper. Even with the Grad-U-Wake feature, it gets quite loud quite fast.
Because the RP3751 is a mere 6-inch cube, you can place it on a small or overcrowded night table without having to push aside your bedtime reading materials. We also liked the large LED readout, but we weren't so crazy about the dim radio dial, which can make it tough to find stations in a dark room.
The RP3751 is small and affordable, and it sounds very good. Despite our few gripes, RCA's RP3751 is strongly recommended. --Wayne Garcia

It is quite compact, and so fits easily on an overcrowded night stand. Most of the control inputs are buttons, which are easy to find and use. A couple of switches for the alarms are small however, and might cause trouble for some folks. The display digits are very large, so if you need corrective lenses, you should have little trouble reading the time at night. The brightness of the display can only by set bright or dim, by the way, and I use mine at dim. The sound quality is only so-so; but what can you expect for the price? The CD alarm mode lets you select a favorite cut to wake to, and also allows random and repeat plays. My only complaint has to do with the digital display when the snooze button is used. For some odd reason, when this feature is used, the display blinks on and off until the alarm goes off again. And it doesn't display the time. For example, if I choose track 5 to be my wake up song, and...Read more 23 of 24 people found the following review helpful: By "mindful-dot-com" (Oakland, CA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: RCA RP3751 CD Clock Radio with Green Display (Electronics) I liked all the features of this solid, easy to operate unit except one. A feature called "Graduwake" is advertised as being designed to wake you gradually. Now, one might think that gradually means over a period of, perhaps, minutes. However, the beep beep beep tone of the unit increases from soft to extraordinarily loud (hard to wake sleepers might enjoy this) within a period of no longer than 45 seconds, and more often within a period of about 15-20 seconds. This might be acceptible if the beeping always began very low. Unfortunately the beginning place for the beeping varies from low to medium, and occasionally (if the cd is playing at any volume whatsoever) the beeping begins full blast. Full blast beeping on this unit can wake you from 20 feet away or more. If you are listening RCA, I would pay more for a unit that gave real control over the volume of the alarm tone, and the way it increases. I wake easily, and would like to avoid startling my spouse with...Read more 13 of 13 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: RCA RP3751 CD Clock Radio with Green Display (Electronics) The CD player on this clock radio skipped the very first time I tried to use it. I tried different CDs, I tried making certain it was on a very stable surface but it still skipped: about once every minute or so. I'm sending it back this week. |
