Amazon.com Review
This exact-time portable alarm clock belongs wherever punctuality is essential--in a hotel room for frequent travelers, on a desk for those with a heavy meeting schedule, or next to a phone for those making calls to other time zones. The clock has a built-in radio receiver that automatically synchronizes its time, day, and date with the U.S. atomic clock for the utmost accuracy. The two-line LCD display shows the time and day of the week on the top line. The bottom line shows the date (and, alternately, the alarm setting) and selected U.S. time zone on a map display. The alarm is easy to set and rings loudly enough to ensure travelers make their flight or meeting on time. A snooze button gives sleepyheads an extra 8 minutes before sounding the alarm again, and the bright blue backlighting makes the time easy to read in the dark. A radio tower icon shows how strong the signal is from the clock's current location and a low battery indicator illuminates when the clock is running out of juice. Although this clock only shows U.S. times, it can be set to display in one of three different languages--English, Spanish, or French. The travel clock operates on two AAA batteries (included) and is covered by a 90-day warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Summary: Perfect Travel Clock! (11 1/2 year old) [4.75 stars] 2005-11-27
Comment: My dad had another clock similar to this, but he thought he lost it, so he bought this one. He found the clock he thought he lost in his shoe, and gave me the one I'm reviewing right now. This one works beautiful! The battery life is nice and long, the signal is wonderful, it is pretty easy to set, and it also has world time setting which I never really use, since it can automatically set itself if I move from Washington to Florida. The time zone map has four sections. It has a nice, bright LED blue backlight that lights up the large, LCD screen. That same button also activates "SNOOZE". The alarm clock has a great little system. First it goes "Beep...Beep...Beep" 10 times. Then it goes "BeepBeep...BeepBeep...BeepBeep" 10 times. Then it goes "BeepBeepBeep...BeepBeepBeep...BeepBeepBeep" 10 times. Then it goes "BeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeepBeep" without any interval inbetween the beeps. Once you change the hour or the minute for the alarm, the bell (alarm on) symbol automatically comes on. There is a four-wave signal indicator. Press "((.)) / 24h [bell symbol] OFF" to toggle between last set alarm clock time and the date/month. Hold it to set the alarm clock time. Press "MODE / SET" to toggle between seconds and the day. Hold it to toggle between manual time set [hour first, then minute], manual year set, manual month/date set, and E, F, and S. Every time you press a button, it reacts with a quiet click beep. The only reason I gave this 4.75 stars instead of 5 is sometimes it flashes 2 waves and the time zone map. It doesn't even affect the time, though. This is why I suggest you buying RM806 if you need a handy travel clock. Great Oregon Scientific unit!

Summary: not my first choice 2003-03-12
Comment: Relatively simple to use and set up. Three problems: it chirps at every button push, not good if you're with a light sleeper and want to check the time. The radio reception is poor, I live in a brick building and have to leave it by the window for it to reset itself. The alarm is not a crescendo alarm, rather it starts out loud and increases the speed at which it beeps. I expected a soft beep that increases in volume.
