I've had three, given away one "New In the Box," or "NIB," am ordering another to have on hand when the spirit moves me to pass it on to someone. I'm kind of a time freak, so I've got one in my bathroom, another in the family room, and a much larger "atomic" wall clock right over my PC. OK, its not atomic. It is digital, and it receives radio signals from a US station that tell it what time it is. You never need to set it. Couldn't set it if you tried. Once you have fed it an AA battery, set it up according to the instructions, and waited several hours some evening, it will display the exact time, to the minute. If you are willing to wait up to 59 seconds, you can get the exact time to the second, when the minutes display roles over to the next minute. Yes, you can fold it up, pack it into your baggage, and set it up at your destination. BUT, if your travel takes several days, and if your destination lodging has thick walls and...Read more 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Lacrosse WT-2165U-SBP Digital Travel Alarm Clock I like precise clocks and watches, so when atomic time devices became mainstream, I became addicted to them. They are all over our house. I travel 45 weeks per year on business, so when I saw this atomic travel alarm I bought it for 2 reasons: 1.) it sets itself to the current atomic time from the official atomic clock in Colorado, and 2.) it had an adjustable snooze alarm (which is rare in a portable travel alarm clock). It works great, is accurate to the second, and sets itself on the road, no matter what time zone I'm in. I was so impressed, I ended up buying another one. My only complaints, if you can call them complaints, are that the snooze function is a little weird and making sure you have turned off the alarm completely can be tricky in the dark. In order to "hit" the snooze, you have to push/bend the top of the clock backwards against the resistance of the spring in the hinge of the stand. If the clock is on a slippery surface, you only end up sliding the clock...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Lacrosse WT-2165U-SBP Digital Travel Alarm Clock The box for my La Crosse Atomic Alarm Clock states the Model No. is WT-6165U-SPB, but the clock itself states that the Model No. is WT-2165LED. I have no idea what "U-SPB" is supposed to mean. Amazon has several La Crosse travel clocks listed on its web site which appear similar to this clock and each has a different model number, but all appear to have similar features. Like many electronic devices on the market today, this clock was made in China. The label inside the door of the battery compartment states that it takes a "AA" battery, but it actually takes a AAA battery. The battery was not included in the box. After installing a battery, the clock automatically picked up the correct time from the atomic clock after sitting out overnight. However, the clock must be set manually for the correct time zone - it does not have a GPS in it, so it has to be told where it is by selecting the correct time zone. Setting everything else on this clock must also...Read more |
