I've used this clock for years. It runs off batteries which last for many months between changes. When the battery starts getting weak the LCD dims over a period of weeks so you won't get caught with it just shutting off in the middle of the night. It automatically sets the time so you don't have to worry about it being off for power outages. It has a pleasant alarm tone chirp that starts off with one beep then increasing in frequency to two then three than four. Illumination of the LCD works well. It shows the temperature which is nice. Small and lightweight and can easily be used for travel. Adjustable snooze duration, which I like.

On the con side, it is a little kludgy to set up, particularly getting the time zone and daylight savings functions operating properly. Once you figure it out once it's easy. It only has one alarm setting, and doesn't play music or have a radio.

I bought this for my husband. He has had an alarm with the skyscan feature for just over 10 years, it is wearing out so he wanted a new one. I looked around and found this one that seems to be the closest match to what he had before. A lot of people in the reviews were saying that it was hard to set the time. We didn't find it hard at all. I did put the clock in the window and it did take 24 hours to get the wave, but it didn't really matter much because we could manually set the time. The temperature indicator is a nice feature too.

The only thing we wish this had was a physical switch to change daylight savings time and timezones, because he does a lot of traveling. This model does everything by pushing the front buttons to enter different modes to adjust things. Not a deal breaker though.

The alam starts with one beep and then keeps beeping for a few second then the beep doubles, I'm not sure what happens after that, it's off by then. It is loud but not ear...Read more
