Summary: Forces some of us to adjust for DST 2010-08-31
Comment: While it's nice to have dual alarms and the ability to choose weekdays or weekends, I find it annoying that because I live in an area that doesn't observe Daylight Savings Time, I have to now correct the time on this clock because it adjusts DST automatically and that feature can't be turned off. It's a great feature, but since you know part of the contiguous US won't need it (evidenced by the large sticker informing me that I now have to adjust my clocks for DST) give it an on/off option please. Very frustrating Emerson!!

Summary: Hardly Alarming... 2010-08-29
Comment: This clock has all the features one could possibly want in a dual alarm clock. It does an automatic time setting which accounts for daylight savings time (very quick with no input). It supports 5 day/7 day so either/both alarms can have the weekend off. The display is not too bright (the amber version) and very easy to read. The snooze button is big and intuitive. The alarm shut-off button is NOT right next to the snooze button (DUH alarm clock makers - anyone flailing at a snooze button can easily shut it off and not know it IF the shut-off button is RIGHT NEXT TO THE SNOOZE). There is a radio feature which sounded decent enough.
All bundled with the quietest most soothing buzzer sound that will never wake up a moderate to sound sleeper. It has a gradually increasing volume, and it does get louder over a period of 5 minutes. Just gradual enough for the brain to keep blocking it out. I think this may be an issue with most Emerson models as I've had the same issue with other clocks in their line. This did not work for me, and I normally wake up if I hear our bedroom door open (I'd call myself a moderate sleeper, definitely not light).
It's disappointing there isn't a setting or switch for low-medium-loud alarm sounds. This clock ALMOST worked perfectly except the part where it gets me up and out of bed - basically what I need it for, so one star review.
I ended up with a Philips AJ3540 - an annoying beep that's super loud. It's necessary to hate your alarm clock - it works best that way.

Summary: Good but bright 2010-08-22
Comment: Overall the clock is fine; however, even on the lowest setting, it is too bright to sleep with.

Summary: YAY an alarm clock, FTW! 2010-08-03
Comment: You plug it in, it sets the time by itself, FTW. You set your preferred time to wake up and it makes noise, FTW. It has a nice large display which I can read from the other side of the room, FTW. It's an alarm clock, not a stereo/boombox/HiFi so don't expect to rock a house party with this thing. But do expect to not ever have to set an alarm clock again!
Comment: This item is good as an alarm clock, with the dual alarm feature, the large bright numerals. and the chime sounds for "buzzer". Without individual hour-minute set, it takes a little longer to scroll to your desired time. The radio, however, is indistinct, very poor sound quality. In addition, it is extremely hard to set to a given station frequency reading which shows up on the LED readout. The radio does provide a loud source of noise for wake up alarm.
