Disney Princess Alarm Clock Radio

Comment: Stars, princess songs, radio and a pink castle- what more could a girl want? How about something that actually lasts more than a few months. We shopped for 3 mths for the perfect alarm clock (yeah a bit long but she wanted something specific). When we found this one it had it all- the looks, the sounds and the lights (which were what sold her over another alarm clock). But after 5 months the light has burned out- and I turned it off every night after she fell asleep! There is no way to change this and she is heartbroken. Because it was an electronic and it was purchased at Toys-R-Us, when we brought it home and found that the bulb couldn't be replaced in the beginning- they would not return it. This is a total disappointment. Don't make a big selling feature something that lasts so short and can't be repaired. We also have some trouble getting a clear radio station on it and it isn't as user friendly as it could be- but we could live with that if the lights hadn't burned out. So sad!

Comment: We purchased this alarm clock for my 6 year old daughter less than a year ago. She loved the princess castle shape and the projected star feature. Within a couple months, the FM radio no longer works. She now has the option of waking up to AM talk radio or the obnoxious pre-recorded disney song. I find the dials and switches for changing stations and turning on and off to be very difficult to use. For the almost $30 we spent, I would definitly have chosen something else.

Comment: We've had this clock in my daughter's room for 6 months (she is 2 years old). She loves it. She likes turning on the stars (ceiling projection) every night when she goes to bed. She also likes pressing the demo button to hear the song clips. We haven't had any trouble with radio reception. We have not used the alarm yet. Also, after 6 months of having the stars on every night (and sometimes all day if I forget to turn them off in the morning), the light still hasn't burned out. My only complaint is that I would prefer a digital tuner to the dial.

Comment: My daughter loves this clock, especially because the singing and the nightlight that projects stars onto the ceiling (which is an unusable feature now). As a parent, I feel differently. The material is cheap, the music is low quality making it hard to understand the words, and we have yet to find a fm or am station it will pick up. There is not an auto off for the projection light and ours died out after 4 months. I could not find a way to get to the light bulb to change it, so my husband worked on it. He had to take out all the electronics in order to reach the light, which is fiber optic encased in a housing unit that does not come apart, so the light is unchangeable. I am very disappointed as the music and lights were the main selling point of this unit.
