COBY AM/FM/SW RADIO W/DIG DISPLAY

I needed a portable radio to listen to my two favorite stations while I'm working in my shop. My choice was this Coby CX-39.

The speaker is very clear; the reception is excellent. The radio's antenna increases the reception when it is raised. Setting the clock and alarm is easy.

The radio that I was sold is slightly frustrating because the digital readout does not reflect the actual tuning point. I have not taken it in for repair because I can still easily find my two stations.

Despite the readout problem, I would buy this radio again.

Bought this radio for our, soon to be, 18 year old cat upstairs. The reception is good and it reaches more stations than a previous (other brand)aged radio, used for years for the same purpose.

I'd searched for a replacement for weeks, and Amazon had what I was looking for. I'm very satisfied with my choice.

I received the radio, pluged in and worded ok. I threw the box, etc away - 2 days later, I turned on and the digistal display screen did not work so you are unable to tell what station you are on. When I tried to return, I was told I needed the original box which I no longer had; I was told to buy another radio and use that new box to return the old one but I did not like that idea as I am no longer sure of the quality of the radio. Also, the tuner button in a "wheel" in side the radio and is hard to move so the station numbers jump dramatically - a better tuner would fix the problem. The sound was ok but in the end the tuner button was a bigger drawback for me then the failed digital display. If the tuner button worked properly, I would have gotten another; stay away from this radio
