Braun Voice Controlled Travel Alarm Clock BlackI bought this to replace the German made Braun alarm that it's designed to mimic. The old one lasted about 20 years. It turns out, this one has a little foil sticker on the bottom that says "Made in China". The voice control feature didn't work unless I held it right in front of my mouth and screamed! (Not good for my wife, who sleeps next to me.) A tap on the case with my fingernail did the job though, so I kept it awhile (and disposed of the packaging). The dial light was much more useful than the little microphone.

Last week, the alarm didn't sound at all a couple of mornings; just a soft click and then nothing. This week, when it does sound, the snooze just peeps three times and quits. Do the people who make this understand that the purpose of it is to get me to work...Read more

Although marketed as the equivalent to the Braun AB30, this clock falls far short of that great clock. The snooze for the crescendo alarm cannot be activated by a button, but only by clapping or speaking. In practice, clapping works, but one must shout or pick up the clock to speak directly into the speaker to activate the snooze. The time can be easily read in the dark with luminous hands, but the alarm hand is not luminous. As the dial cannot be lighted, the alarm cannot be reset in the dark. The clock has a soft audible tick.

I purchased this clock thinking it was like my last Braun clock and clearly I was mistaken. Don't buy I have had it for less than 60 days and it doesn't work properly. I can't even turn the darn thing off. What a waste
