I switched to the radio to wake me years ago. I found this equally annoying. I realized that on days that I do not have to work, I wake up naturally to the rising of the sun. So, low and behold, let's try the BioBrite!
I'll admit I was skeptical at first. I tried it on a non-work day without the "beep" that you can use in addition to the simulated sunrise. Wow. I woke right up. I felt very refreshed and not scared out of my mind by a horrifying "beep" or morning radio D.J. cracking some off-the-wall joke. You can even snooze the sunrise and make it come back in 9 minutes! Yes, I fell back asleep and woke again in 9 minutes. This also has a white noise feature for sleeping through the pesky lawn blowers on weekends as well as a security feature that will turn the light on randomly between 4pm and 11pm when you're out of town...Read more 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: BioBrite Digital SunRise Alarm Clock (Model 88628W) With White Noise (Electronics) I had a Soleil Sunrise clock before this and it was just a night light. The BioBrite is a 60 watt bulb--a real light. I also love the other features:
* Dimmable bedside light for reading or soft lighting * Security option so light comes on at random intervals from 4-11pm as if the house is occupied * Nightlight option * LCD display fades to low level when it is in night mode I have the one with white noise and it is wonderful. 9 of 11 people found the following review helpful: By Adi (Greater Seattle area, WA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: BioBrite Digital SunRise Alarm Clock (Model 88628W) With White Noise (Electronics) UPDATE: In April 2006 I sent the clock in a second time, and BioBrite replaced the clock entirely. I now have a white noise model. However, this clock is now randomly making static noise like a hand radio stuck on a bad signal! The noise is random and wakes me up or scares me while I lie in bed. I do not have the noise feature on. Now, I have to call BioBrite again, pay to ship the clock again, and pray a working clock can be acquired!
I bought the clock in late 2005. The clock's "Sun Rise" was not fading up or down constantly and the bulb was flickering sporadically. I sent the clock in for service early 2006 and the BioBrite company replaced the Display Board; however, the clock is still not working correctly. I am very disappointed and quite furious every morning the clock fails. Rather than waking peacefully to a slow "sun rise", I wake up to what I feel is more like a strobe light. I have spent close to $150.00 on this clock including shipping back for service...Read more |
