This review is from: Big Ben 2000 Baby Ben Deluxe (Kitchen) I like this retro Big Ben clock. I hate it when the battery would run out on the clock I was using - no notice, just stopped because of the battery. I thought that winding the clock would be a nice ritual at night; and it is really. Only a few times, I have forgotten to wind it, and it would get behind. But since it runs on 36 hour time, the alarm still worked. It has a loud, but pleasant alarm. No snooze button on this clock though. You also have to wind the alarm! Still, I'm enjoying it, and it definitely wakes this heavy sleeper up every day! 23 of 24 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Big Ben 2000 Baby Ben Deluxe (Kitchen) This clock is an improvement over the Style 7, 8, and 9 models of the past, as this clock has a glass dial instead of a plastic dial like the other models do. It also has a quieter ticking to it compared to the other models as well. I also like the fact that this clock has a second hand on it. The main problem with these newer models is that the body of the clock is made of plastic instead of metal (like on the other models), and there is no SOFT/LOUD adjustment for the sound of the alarm on this model (like the others do.) It also is a shame that these clocks are now made in China instead of the USA, but there is nothing we can do about that! I would definately recommend buying this clock as a new clock to buy, but if you want better quality in a new clock, look for a new model of the styles mentioned above new in the package on eBay or some other site. Check out [...]/westclox for more information on the other models of this type of clock. 17 of 20 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Big Ben 2000 Baby Ben Deluxe (Kitchen) Normally, in years past, this clock has been a staple in American homes, and greatly applauded. However, although this item was advertized as being made in the U. S., I found it was Made in China, and the quality was poor, and it was difficult for me to dial the time knobs. It was a sorry purchase. |
