It has a nice feature that I don't think was mentioned in the description on the webpage. The alarm is a progressive alarm - it starts out with a softer beep and gradually becomes louder. The pace of the beep also speeds up. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By Mortis (Texas) - See all my reviews This review is from: Big Ben 1931 Quartz Alarm Clock, White Dial (Kitchen) This is a beautiful clock and I was excited when I got it, but I ran into some problems very early. First the glowing hands only glow for about 30 minutes so most of the night you can't see the time. Second the clock has a very loud tick. It is loud enough that it is hard to go to sleep with it on the nightstand. The Third issue is the alarm. It is very loud for an ascending alarm. I am a light sleeper and don't need to be shocked awake. I bought the clock because reviewers said it was very soft. This is not true. This clock really could have been great with some small changes. 11 of 13 people found the following review helpful: By chicago esquire (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Big Ben 1931 Quartz Alarm Clock, White Dial (Kitchen) This is a wonderful, heavyweight clock that will make a beautiful addition to any room. It is an elegant reproduction of Big Ben. Runs on one AA battery. This clock has somewhat of a weak alarm, so if you are a heavy sleeper, this clock is not for you. I purchased solely for the look and clock, not the alarm. |
