Product Review

Bai's innovative Pick-me-up alarm clock has a built-in light bulb that lights up and cut to snooze when picked up or tilted, which makes it very convenient to set the alarm as well as knowing what time it is when the alarm goes off - no more searching for the snooze button when you are half-awake! Fitted with a compact and quality German UTS quartz movement that is the quietest in the World! Even its ONE button design on the back for setting the alarm time is intentional because it won't be confused with the rarely used time-setting button, which is hidden inside the battery compartment. It also features a bright niteglow dial for an easy read in almost any lighting conditions. An attractive and fully functional alarm clock that is quiet and easy-to-use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Attractive, small, and not "ultra quiet", June 17, 2011

This review is from: Bai Pick-Me-Up Alarm Clock, Chartreuse (Kitchen)
I bought this clock because I wanted an analog (i.e. non-digit) alarm clock. I liked the retro look of the numerals and the pick-up light function. I had misgivings about a quartz clock, but I decided to get this one because it advertised itself as having a "UTS Ultra Quiet quartz movement." Well, this movement is not ultra quiet. I'm not even sure it's kind-of quiet. In a still bedroom at night, while trying to go to sleep, I could the tick-tick-tick of the quartz movement moving the second hand. Even in a room with some background noise (birds chirping out the window, kids playing outside), the quartz movement was audible.

So, if you want a cute, small bedside alarm clock, and if you don't mind tick-tick-tick-tick of quartz, this is probably a good choice. But if you want a totally quiet sleep space, do not buy this clock.
