This review is from: Aluratek AIRMM02F WiFi Internet Radio Alarm Clock with Remote (Black) (Electronics) This is my second ALURATEK purchase after AIRMM01MM. The reception, ease of use and available Radio Stations list is impressive. Other functionality: USB MP3 play, Windows MediaConnect streaming and WiFi Access Point were tested in the previous unit and it worked very well. In this new model they added an RSS Feed connectivity, a nice smaller remote (missing RADIO FM button for some reason! Come on Aluratek!!!) a new slick look with two navigation dials instead of buttons, but the same slow and bulky GUI without PRESETS (See my review of AIRMM01F). The Digital Clock display mimicking flipping number plates is a hideous abomination. 2) NO BACK BUTTON. Come on Aluratek! - ADD THE PRESETS so that we dont have to go kill ourselves going through several layers of navigation : Internet Radio -> Favorite ->Location -> Europe-> Italy -> News-> RadioItaliaInternacional !
Unlike AIRMM01F it has two RCA stereo jacks for audio connectivity as well as standard 3.5mm earphone jack. It has 2...Read more 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful: By BJH "BJH" (Maryland, United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Aluratek AIRMM02F WiFi Internet Radio Alarm Clock with Remote (Black) (Electronics) This product has potential. Unfortunately it also has several problems including - [1]Hard to read the clock display. Each number is in a faux-LED font and is closely packed into a "grid". How about a clean Arial font with no adornments? What were they thinking? [2]No snooze button! (There is a "snooze button" on the remote control and it is a tiny button in the middle of many other tiny buttons. It is not something you will find while fumbling the remote control in the dark.) [3]At the darkest backlight setting, the display is much too bright for sleeping. If you point the radio away from your bed, there is a bright green *flashing* LED on the back! I put a piece of black tape over it. [4]Very poor user interface. It requires multiple (at least 4-5) remote-control buttons to simply turn on the radio and pick a "favorite" station. Why not map each number key on the remote to a favorite station so I can turn the radio 'on'...Read more 13 of 14 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Aluratek AIRMM02F WiFi Internet Radio Alarm Clock with Remote (Black) (Electronics) I bought an AIRMM02F from Amazon.com and an AIRMM01F from Buy.com at the same time for about the same price. Functionally, they appear to be the same but differ in size and shape. The AIRMM02F is wider and requires more access space above the radio. The USB port is in the front on the AIRMM01F (easy to insert a USB flash drive), and on the top on the AIRMM02F (requires more space). The AIRMM02F has a built-in WiFi antenna while the AIRMM01F has an external antenna. The remote is smaller for the AIRMM02F. |
